Meet Silveria
Island roots. A heart for connection.
I’m Silveria Steele, born on San Andrés Island, a Raizal, and an island girl at heart. I moved to the Chicago area as a child, but San Andrés and the culture that shaped me have always stayed close.
My travels have taken me through Peru, Greece, Germany, Paris, Costa Rica, San Juan, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Nicaragua, and extensively across Africa. Some of my most meaningful experiences have come through solo travel: setting out on my own, meeting people along the way, and building genuine relationships that stay with me long after the trip ends.
After more than 30 years in private care, I know how much thoughtful details and genuine attention matter. I bring that same care to hosting—welcoming travelers, sharing destinations with respect, and making room for local food, history, laughter, and connection.
Steele Away grew from the things I hold close: my island roots, a love of discovering the world, and the relationships we form along the way. I want to share San Andrés and the wider Caribbean through a Raizal lens while creating meaningful getaways near and far.
